In 2001, after winning the 5th level of the World Championship contest, I thought I knew it all. Even though I was earning $2,500 as a keynote speaker, while still working a day job, I sought out a coach. World Champion, Mark Brown. Mark looked at my speech for the World Championship and just shook his head. Ouch!

I thought I knew how to write and deliver a speech. I did, but only at a beginners level. Mark Brown gave me a schooling. Wow! I didn’t know, what I didn’t know.

Two years after winning, I got coaching from Patricia Fripp. I realized, yet again, I didn’t know, what I didn’t know. She taught me some secrets of storytelling, I would not have discovered in a life-time on my own. What do you not know?
